Our Community leaders have set up pathways of assisting any Black trans-women who is moving from any major city in Illinois to Elgin to help them settle in and find affordable places and a better job
Our ETC program provides free temporary housing to Homeless trans-women. We welcome all transwomen but according to space, we prioritize Black trans-women from Illinois
Having domestic violence as a common epidemic among all transgender communities. Elgin women have combated against this disease through taking legal action, communication amongst us, and supporting domestic violence survivors
With increasing number of deaths, death threats ,homelessness, domestic violence, HIV flares in 2018 amongst TransWomen in Elgin , this gave a group of black femme trans-women a purpose to come together and fight some of the most pressing issues mentioned above. The focus was placed on Black trans-women because Black trans-women were almost twice likely to be affected by these terrifying events
